Tamagawa Daishi
Tamagawa Daishi
Tokyo area
This temple has an underground Buddha hall and training hall, which was created as a miniature pilgrimage route that covers the 88 temples of Shikoku, 33 temples of the Saigoku region, and India. During the Sand Stepping Festival in May and October, you can worship by spreading sand from the above-mentioned temples on the underground approach to the temple.
It is also famous as a temple of the Kannon that prevents dementia, and a temple of the 88 temples in Kanto and Tamagawa.
Prayers and memorial services are held as part of the Great Goma Ritual, where a fire is lit on the goma altar and then a talisman is made.
