Vegan and Organic Café MAGATANIA

Our concept is ‘to propose a sustainable lifestyle for the mind, body and environment’.

Based on the owner’s knowledge and personal experience of overcoming cancer by making improvements to their diet and lifestyle, the restaurant offers set lunches, various types of omusubi (rice balls), drinks and sweets, all made from vegan, organic, gluten-free, sugar-free, chemical additive-free and non-refined (whole food) ingredients. You can also purchase items from the shop.

Surrounded by the quiet forests of Oku-Ibuki and with waterfalls nearby, the shop also offers river activities, short trekking, nature observation sessions and bird watching. In addition, experiences such as Earthing, meditation, mugwort footbath and Reiki healing are also available for those who are interested.

There is no public transport that provides access to the restaurant. Customers without their own vehicles will need to rent a car from Maibara Station, where the Shinkansen bullet train stops. From there, it takes about 40 minutes to the restaurant. Alternatively, customers may take a taxi or other means from the nearest JR Omi Nagaoka Station, which takes about 25 minutes.

There is an old guesthouse (https://www.soyomo.net/) in the vicinity where visitors may rent out the entire house. If those staying at the guesthouse can contact us in advance, we can consider offering special experiences such as private dinner in the restaurant, vegan barbecue, stargazing, waterfall trekking, breakfast, morning yoga, footbaths.
